Beijing dazzled the world with its clockwork efficiency during the Olympics, and the Chinese capital is still revelling in the glory of hosting a "truly exceptional games" as described by Jacques Rogge, the International Olympic Committee president.
But once the circus leaves town, one question will remain: will life in China ever be the same?
