A missing Iranian nuclear scientist has appeared in two different videos, each offering contradictory accounts of his whereabouts. The videos emerged on the eve of a UN Security Council vote on a fresh round of sanctions over Iran's nuclear programme . In one, released by Iranian state television, a man said to be Shahram Amiri says he was kidnapped by US intelligence agents during a religious pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia , a claim the US has denied. In the other, a man who also identifies himself as Amiri, says he is freely living in the US, pursuing an advanced degree in physics . Al Jazeera 's Patty Culhane reports. A massive pro-democracy rally is scheduled to take place during the president's address in which he is expected to criticise the US and its foreign policy as well as defend Iran's uranium enrichment programmes. The U.S. military could have plans to use Georgian air bases to launch air strikes against Iran, according to Russias envoy to NATO Dmitry Rogozin. He pointed out that Georgia would be the perfect base for a potential U.S. operation in Iran.
