Pakistan quake catastrophe

Rescue efforts are under way in southwestern Pakistan after a powerful earthquake hit the region. More than 150 people are confirmed dead. The 6.4 magnitude earthquake has flattened hundreds of mud and timber houses. The epicentre of the quake was 60km from Quetta near the valley of Zairat. Al Jazeera's Kamal Hyder reports.

Pakistan 'refusing to fight al-Qaeda'

The head of Afghanistan's spy agency has accused Pakistan of refusing to arrest the man they say was behind the bombing of the Indian embassy in Kabul. In an interview with Al Jazeera, Amrullah Saleh says that his agency gave the man's details to Pakistani officials but that the authorities have failed to act.

Pakistan shaken by deadly blast

Asif Ali Zardari, Pakistan's president, has condemned the bombing of the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad as "horrible and cowardly". Al Jazeera's Imran Khan reports from Islamabad where rescue teams are searching through the remains of the Marriot hotel after a truck exploded, killing at least 40 people.

Pakistan's coalition government is in danger of collapse after Nawaz Sharif, the former prime minister who heads the coalition's second largest faction, pulled out of the government. Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Sharif said he was quitting the partnership between his PML-N party and the Pakistan People's Party, the PPP. Pakistan arms depot hit by double suicide attack

A double suicide attack outside Pakistan's main arms factory has claimed almost 60 lives, as workers left the compound near Islamabad, at the end of their shift. Pakistan's Taliban have claimed responsibility, saying the attacks were in retaliation for recent military operations on the Afghan border. Kamal Hyder was at the scene of the blasts in the town of Wah.
