Chile's mining perils

Chilean special forces will soon commence a rescue operation to pull out 33 miners who have been trapped underground for more than two months.

But while preparations are being made for the rescue, some miners have been telling Al Jazeera that radical changes are needed to make the mining industry safer.

They accuse officials of exploitating workers and turning a blind eye to extremely dangerous working conditions.

Lucia Newman reports from the remote Atacama desert in Chile.
