How many people were executed in China last year?

he report, Death Sentences and Executions in 2009, reveals that at least 714 people were executed in 18 countries and at least 2001 people were sentenced to death in 56 countries last year. This excludes the thousands of executions that were likely to have taken place in China, where information on the death penalty remains a state secret.

Terror Suspects

The search for terror suspect, Hussein Hashi Farah who escaped police custody a week and a half ago, has now moved from the western region of the country to north eastern. Police in Australia where Hussein is wanted for terror acts, said two of Farahs associates have already been arrested. Meanwhile, the anti terrorist police unit has arrested 5 men in suspected to be terror suspects from Pakistani. The 5 were arrested today as they landed at the Moi international airport, Mombasa.

UK: Israel behind Dubai killing, diplomat must go

The UK is expected to expel an Israeli diplomat over the use of British passports in the organised killing of a Hamas commander in Dubai, in January. It's thought British Foreign Secretary David Milliband will announce the decision to parliament later today. Dubai police suspect the Israeli secret service, Mossad, of being behind the murder. Several countries have expressed disgust at the use of cloned passports by the killers.
