Water crisis looms in occupied Golan Heights

Bashar al-Assad, the Syrian President, has asked for help from his French counterpartsin any possible direct talks with Israel.

Technically, the two countries remain at war since Israel occupied the Golan Heights in 1967.

The Golan is a valuable fresh water resource, but it's under environmental threat, and as David Chater reports, that may put any political settlement under threat.
